6.10.4. Enforced TLS Notification
The ability to turn on Notifications for Enforced TLS is available. The only action option is to enable
Notifications when a message is not TLS Encrypted and is denied.
6.11. Notifications
Notifications give you the ability to have us send a ‘notification/FYI’ email to the sender or recipient
of an email that was not delivered because the email violated your policy.
Example 1:
You may wish to notify the recipient that they were sent a message that contained an attachment
that was quarantined because it violated their email protection policy. The recipient can then
determine if they do need that email and they have an opportunity to get in touch with the
administrator to release the message from quarantine.
Example 2:
It can prove beneficial to notify the Sender of a message when they sent a message that violates
your Enforced TLS policy. This will notify they sender that they did not send the message in the
correct TLS format and they should resent the message appropriately.
Note: to have these notification emails sent, you must first ‘activate’ the notification in the individual
policy threat area. Once the notification is activated, the notification email is sent when a message
violates the policy.
The high-level Policy Notification tab gives the administrator the ability to customize the notification
email itself.
The notifications can be sent to either the email sender and/or email recipient of the message that
violated the policy.
