Use this task to resolve problems that do not generate an error message during installation.

If you are not able to identify and resolve the problem after each step, proceed to the next step.

Task

Run the McAfee Virtual Technician wizard.

Launch the tool from http://mvt.mcafee.com and follow the instructions on the screen. See

TS101111 for download links and detailed instructions on using this tool. During the process, you

will need to download the diagnostic tool if it is not already installed.

The tool scans the computer, diagnoses and fixes problems, replaces missing or corrupted registry

keys, restarts any stopped McAfee services, and checks for known issues and missing update

packages. If the tool is unable to fix the problem, it creates a log that describes the problems, so

that you can attempt to fix them, and a session report that technical support can retrieve if

needed.
