Introducing Endpoint Encryption for Files and

Folders 4.0 Migration

Endpoint Encryption for Files and Folders (EEFF) 3.x uses Endpoint Encryption Manager (EEM)

as the administration interface. This utility allows privileged users to manage the enterprise

from any workstation that can establish a TCP/IP link or file link to the Object Directory. The

EEM:

• Defines administrators and users

• Configures EEFF policies

• Creates and assigns EEFF keys

McAfee Endpoint Encryption for Files and Folders 4.0 offers data protection in the form of

powerful encryption technology so that only authorized users can access information. EEFF 4.0

integrates with McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) 4.5, which provides a single point of control

over all the data on the systems. EEFF 4.0 is managed through the ePolicy Orchestrator using

a combination of user and product based policies.

McAfee recommends that you migrate from EEFF 3.x to EEFF 4.0 to improve manageability and

other supported features.
